some antiviruses and firewalls to block viruses, ads, and pop-ups in the web traffic.

Now TrafficCompressor may be configured to not open the local 80(HTTP) and 110(POP3) TCP ports.
That may resolve a port conflict with a local web or e-mail server if either of them is used
on the computer
where TrafficCompressor is installed. To change those settings please go to
the "Preferences" window, "Other" tab.
-
Added a help article about speed/traffic optimization modes.

TrafficCompressor crashed with "Out of memory" or similar error message.

of hosts in the TrafficCompressor preferences. To add an IP address
range or a subnet address please go to the "Hosts" tab of the

Range..." or "Subnet.." menu item.
Also, you can enter multiple IP address ranges, subnet addresses, and
IP addresses at once by selecting the "Multiple Items..." menu item.

172.16.0.0 - 172.31.255.255
192.168.0.0 - 192.168.255.255
169.254.0.0 - 169.254.255.255
These IP addresses are always private (used for private networks), and TrafficCompressor

able to compress such network traffic.
-
Now TrafficCompressor restores the server connection faster after user's Internet connection
has been established or restored after disconnection.
-
The system tray icon animation may be disabled in the Preferences
window.
-
Problem fix: when a user downloaded a large file with some programs
(e.g. FlashGet, FreshDownload etc) and stopped the downloading then

1-2 minutes and more. Now Traffic Compressor stops downloading any data
if the download has been stopped in a download manager or a web browser.

Previous versions counted those types of traffic in the "Other protocols" field.

20(FTP-DATA), and 21(FTP) TCP ports. It opens only local 110(POP3) port
to allow antiviruses
to detect e-mail traffic to remove viruses from incoming e-mail messages.
- Balloon tips can be disabled now.
- Problem fix: TrafficCompressor stopped to transfer any data for 1-2 minutes
after a short modem connection break. That behavior appeared mostly on dial-up
connections. Now TrafficCompressor correctly handles short modem breaks.
